my favorite shot ever on dpc.
where are you Ted? Are you still there?
10/07/2004 12:26:48 PM
yes, Gauti, I think you were. I knew that was a risk that people wouldn't recognize the connection, so I tried, unsuccessfully, to make it a really good shot, but my amateur skills came glaring through! But I can't complain with my ranking in this one.

thanks everyone for the comments. I'm trying to improve!

was I really the only one to (faintly) remember the short story?

Good idea, but the fish does not look fresh, which makes the eyes look out of focus.

It should be jumping out from water :)
Nice idea - pity there is so much "noise" (distaurbin elements) in the bakcground. I always have the same problem to find a good location at home and with the fish it would've been probably even more difficult :)

this could be so much better if the background was crisp, dark, clean, if the lighting was better - really, a great idea but not a great setup. the fish is too dark, but the whitewhite of the table (?) is just too bright. and the extra fruit ain't needed.

Great job with the lighting and composition.

Oh! Now that's not bad. Good imagination to think up this one.

Um, I am going to say there's a bit much foreground. This would have been even funnier had it been cropped just below the last bit of banana peel. It's still worth at least an 8

Needed to get the fish in better focus, but neat idea.

Focus is soft, lighting doesn't seem quite right. Composition is not centered which is good. OK for me.

good concept - not real fond of the glare.
good luck

Idea is fabulous, execution culd use some work. The lighting is too harsh and directional, and there is alot of noise in the forground that makes the focus look off. I love the fishana, though :)

Very nice. Maybe a little dark for my personal tastes, but very nice.

Great idea. Nice composition. I don't like the lighting so much. I think this could be a winner with better lighting. The backlight doesn't work for me. The fish is cast into too much shadow. Very good entry.
