 Huge THANK YOU to my colleague Allison, who is not just stunningly beautiful, but also is a great sport! She was patiently sitting with the petals in her mouth while I was fussing around clumsily in my first real serious photoshoot with lights etc.
The idea with the rose petals (pink and rose in Russian are cognate words) came from childhood, when we were doing this pretending to wear a lipstick. Very cool when you are 6 years old.
Was originally planning for a lighter photo, something with a "kiss" in the title, but really liked Allison's expression here...
After submitting the photo and browsing through the myriads of terrific photos of other participants, found a similar shot in the portfolio of beautiful and talented Samantha_T.
Hope you will not consider it a plagiarism...
(pretty sure Jodie Foster wouldn't mind either).

To CNovack: you were right on the title ambiguity, some people of my internal critique circle tried to talk me out of this (not sure if they meant Roosevelt though).
Could not come up with the better one. :-(

Her eyes are to die for. Clever idea with the petals and the subtle extra touch of pink of her sweater gives an additional softness.

Great tones, lighting, and color on this portrait. I like the rose petal lips for it is definitely something different. Though I don't think silence with this - it makes me think of "speak softly".
