Just seems like a picture in a park. Nothing secret or magical about it to me. It is a nice photo, but it doesn't make me feel anything. I particularly like the lighting on the leaves in the tree.
Gave it a 5 |

i like the hinted trail, but don't know if i'm supposed to be looking at the trail from IN the garden, or the trail that Leads to the garden.
a 6 from me |

One of my favorite books. While the colors are lovely, this doesn't really give me much of a feeling of a garden: either before when it's overgrown or after, once they've started to take care of it. Perhaps adding people would have helped to get some emotion into the shot. -5- |

6...the first thing that popped into my mind was Weirwood from Game of Thrones. It's those bright red leaves. I like it more for those series of novels. I suppose it works for Secret Garden, but it seems like an obvious thing for that. Technically, I wish there was more information to see in the trees trunk, but I know this wasn't a simple exposure. A little more space on the left would have given the branch a bit of breathing room too, but that may not have been possible. |

One of the best technically executed Secret Garden entries that fails to tell me about a garden. 5 |

Hmm... I picture something more intimate when I read that novel.
Still, roughly applicable, and what a LOVELY shade of red.

I like the painting feel of the image. Beautiful colors, although a bit dark for me. 6 |

Nice try with bright and natural color and good framing. What it lacks is any association with the story as far as I can see. 5 |

a pretty tree with sunlight on it. not an exciting composition. not an interesting "garden", nor does it look secret. 4 |

The tie to the story is loose on this, but it is there. Would like better light, and maybe more emphasis on the path through the trees behind. 5 |

I love the red burst of colors.
There is nice DOF and detail.
I almost feel as if I walk into the darkness behind the foreground, I would enter a Secret Garden.
As a child, I really loved that book.
Nice work. Gave it a 6 |

Nice colors! I wish you had a few clouds that day to soften the contrast, but good effort anyways. |

Beautiful branch, shame you couldn't have shifted to include the end of the branch, I imagine the was a choice made. Lovely light you've chosen, but it doesn't quite reinforce a secret garden scene. Lovely shot all the same.5. |

Nice splash of red in the leave and play of shadows and light. Not getting so much "secret" garden though, but still serene and peaceful nonetheless! |

Why is the secret garden so violently colored to the point of losing its magic? Why such sharpening?
The composition would be twice as interesting without being attacked by a poisonous red
