It's an absolutely gorgeous, misty sunrise. I'm having a hard time figuring out if it's possible to have that color water under that color sky, though, and that bothers me some.
I'm more bothered by the fact that it has absolutely nothing to do, emotionally, with the Hemingway novel. But you're far from alone in having taken this approach, working from a title only.

WOW. Beautiful image - simply stunning reflection, fog, sun, everything. This is great.
Unfortunately, it's also a bit too literal for me, and I think it misses the mark a bit for suitability.
Still... How could I not give this a... Shit, there isn't a 6.5 vote is there? ... Flip a coin... 7. ;) |

I like the colors in this shot. The reflection is great. The only thing that I do not like about it is the dark corners.

| I think the challenge is to draw inspiration from the novel, not simply the title of the novel. This has no connection to the novel itself. But it is indeed a pretty, even unusually beautiful image of the sun and misty land/waterscape. It could be a 6 or better if on topic. But as is in this challenge, 5. |

| Outstanding shot! The smooth water with ever so faint ripples, and low sun in the fog, leaving just a silhouette of the trees is very well done. I have only read the plot summary and not the book, but the tie to the story rather than the title is not clear. Would have rated it higher in another challenge, or with a clearer story tie (though I may be missing that). 7 |

| I personally would have tried to take the pic a bit earlier. If circumstances did not allow I would have tried to underexpose a bit as the sun look blown out. Nevertheless is a nice entry, warm tones and soft focus. Could also have cloned out some of the spots on the water. 6 |

Nice landscape, delicate but falls short for this challenge and it seems just chosen to suit the title of the novel but not its content that has so much more to say.
There is a surfeit of sunsets and sunrises in photography and we all try our hands to capture them but they shall be shown sparingly for more effect.

I absolutely love the reflections in the water in this shot. The fog that's around the trees gives it a mysterious feel.
This shot would have worked in the Sun-something challenge as well.
Fitting title. Great colors. Well done. Gave it a 6, but bumping to a 7 |

| Capturing the sun like this is so hard to do without severely blown highlights and haloes! But you nailed it! Love the contrast of blues and yellows! |

Very well done I think a better crop could have helped this a bit.
The stuff in the bottom left is a bit distracting.
