among sunset shots, this one really stands out. as you found, it takes a lot of patience, waiting for what you can't control; thanks for sticking it out!
the only things i might suggest in the future would be a deeper f-stop and a slower shutter (maybe even enough to justify a tripod). as you found out, it takes a fair amount of work to go beyond capturing "another boring sunset" shot. the key is balancing light, textures, and lines, and you have done a great job with this one.

| lovely sunset. The great thing is that you captured the color essence of the whole sunset genre. blue/ teal/cobalt/ orange yellow. I love the late sunsets for this reason, and the dark beach draws a perfect line into the detailed water.I like it a lot. |

| Exposure is perfect. You've captured some nice texture in the clouds and the colour on the water gives it a metallic look. However, for more interest I believe you either need something silhouetted on the beach or in the water. 6 |

| apt title. interesting cloud pattern, and sunburst. technically almost perfect. compositionally I might have opted for less blue, and fill the frame with more cloud, but that's just a personal preference thing. nice shot. |

Lovely striations and a good scene. I do love sunsets but I just wish there was an extra feature of interest here somewhere. A bit cliche perhaps, but a boat, bird, planet, tree - anything to give more scale and context. That said, I do like the subtle wave and the gorgeous hues off the water.

Strong points: Super, super, sky - the perfect time of day, The shoreline, as a leading line from the bottom right, leads well into the frame (but it does lead the viewer right back out on the left.) The "god beams" through the clouds are spectacular. Exposure = perfect.
Suggestions for improvement: There appears to be vignetting at both top corners - a bit unnatural. |

a nice sunset, but nothign else. No foreground, no detail, no shapes and textures.
One of the things I have learnt is not to rely on one element for your photo. So many people see a good sky and shoot it without thinking about anythign esle. Others ee an interesting person or bird for example, and shoot that giving 100& of thought on the main subject.

| Rather plain idea. It feels like the colours tones are missing, perharps not bright enought. A good Orange filter would've greatly improved on the depth too. Throught PS, i was able to bring out the colours better and intensify the sky greatly. |

I'm not sure, but it might need rotated 1/2 degree clockwise to get the horizon completely horizontal. I could be wrong. |

| Very nice sunset shot with perfect exposure. I read pictures from left to right so that puts the beach curve backwards leading me out of the picture instead of into it. Just my opinion. 9 |

| A beautiful sunset, great warm colors and lines in the sky. A small crop of the left would make it better in my opinion, my eye is moving away to the left because of the leading line, also because I am missing a single focal point. Could you have placed yourself in the image as silhouette ? That would have done it. |
