 Immature Red Tail Hawk. Just 30 minutes before this photo was taken, this Hawk was in mid migration south for the winter. The raptor banding team at Cape May New Jersey had set a trap for him and any other Raptors that were moving south. There were 'lure' birds that were restrained but able to move, put in place where these sharp eyed hunters were sure to spot them. Once the Hawk came down for his free lunch, a spring net was launched over him and he was then captured and measured, weighed and banded. Here he is just before being released. He was a very Angry Bird indeed!

This is one for the portfolio. Very close, sharp, great detail and expression. I don't know that I've ever seen such detail in a birds tongue (just saying). You've got to be proud of this shot.

Nice and crisp. Good to see the whites aren't blown out by the harsh light. Love the fact that you captured the tongue so well.
