Hi, Maria,
I am really shocked that an innocent 3 years old would need to have her nipple covered! Would this apply to boys too?? After all the nipples at that age look the same! Reading the comment I did not even understand what it was about till I read what you said about the previous comment. All I can think of is that some people must be spending time looking at the horrible children's photos posted by pedophiles to even think like that.
It is very said that there is no place for innocence left in this society :(

I did up my score to a 9 and thought it was the best of the bunch with the innocence... I noticed the toplessness, but didn't linger on it long enough to notice the "nip" showing.
I agree however with David and think he has very valid concerns. While the days of yesteryear such photos were completely innocent, they are no longer, especially with the internet being an open place full of ravenous wolves. As such, I would be very hard pressed to shoot photos of any innocent child in an innocent manner and post them where they can freely be viewed and feed the malcontents of society.
But that's just me. |

Coming back to review my high scores given and am sorry to see any negativity here. This is a three year old child. Free to be me is the way it should be. Loved this photo in voting and now - for the natural beauty of it .... congrats. |

When I looked at this I thought she must be about 3. I see I was correct. :-) Now what on earth is the controversy all about?? She's 3! If she was 12 or something, fine, but no one looks at a 3 year old and thinks they should cover up. In my honest opinion, the only kind of person who could point out a 3 YO's nipple is a paedophile. |

David was clearly way out of line with his comments (I wish I could say it were just one...). Over half of the photos of me as a child were topless or bottomless, and I'm quite certain my dad was not a perv. Getting to run around half naked is just a perk of being a kid. In fact, if my dad would have told me to put clothes on for the photos, I probably would have been pouting rather than wearing a big ol' smile. There's nothing wrong with her for being shirtless, and there's nothing wrong with you for taking the photo and posting it. With your careful composition, there's nothing to even see! This is a beautiful child doing what she does. Your granddaughter is well under the age that anyone should even be remotely thinking of sexual thoughts.
It's a beautiful photo, Maria. Thank you for capturing the scene and sharing it with us. |

I would be more explicit in my language when referring to the ********* who even noticed such a thing, far less have the ******* gall to comment in such an outrageous manner. What a ******.
Your image is a beautiful insight into the way little girls begin the 'growing up' process, experimenting with makeup and the like.
My girl, however, preferred to climb trees and absolutely cannot stand make up! For me, this makes this image of your granddaughter doubly precious. Well done. |
I think you have about summed up how I felt. |

I see by reading your comment that you were as passionately upset as I was, probably the reason for the 3 fours and 3 and 2 votes. There has to be a reason as this is an outstanding portrait. |

You know, Maria this is a super great photo of a beautiful child. It could be I am so very opposed to harming children I likely let it get the best of me. I actually thought it was a winner, a 10 for sure. You were too close to the subject to see what I was seeing. Anyway, a bit of PS to lighten the area I pointed out and a wall hanger for sure.
I guess SC removed my original comment...thanks to them. I let it get the better of me. Sorry, David |

Ribbon -- an 8 instead of a 9 because I wish you'd brightened her eyes just a little more. |
