Thank you all for your comments and time viewing this photo, I really appreciate it. This stalk was on a cliff hundreds of feet above the ocean in Italy. It was completely dead for those of you who were concerned, I think it froze before ever even blooming (it was 40 degrees out mid day when this shot was taken, it had been dead for a long while though). I liked straightening this stalk up and giving it a last moment of order before it finally snaps and falls off the cliff (which it probably has by now). Thanks again for commenting. I spent two weeks in Cinque Terra (amazingly photogenic) and France and London shooting non stop its nice to be able to share at least this image :-) |

I just want to know how you got a tree into outer space? Nice! |

Not dead, but a fascinating image all the same! |

Love the monochromatic treatment, centered composition and the tilted horizon which together makes for a special image! |

The horizon line is slightly disorienting, but not in a bad way for me. nice shot. |

Interesting choice to make this iconic silhouette vertical to the slanting sea. Works for me. Also like the sepia. |

I find the sparseness of this very tall tree fascinating and I love the slash of the angle of the textured slope in the background. Top five for me. Voted earlier; back to comment. |

I don't normally like an angled "horizon" if that's what I'm seeing but I like this..even more if the top of the tree wasn't chopped...7 |

Technically that agave is still alive at the top, but I won't knock ya for it. Interesting choice for he horizon, but it works. I'll be looking for where this was taken. |

Ok, this just sets my vertigo off something fierce. Very bold, incredibly beautiful. These trees are so strange - makes me think this is on the California coast. The rippled water bg is wicked good! |
