I can reveal that this is a light-bulb taken up close (the bit in the middle which looks like an outline of a telephone reciever is actually the little wire in the bulb).

Can I also say I am slightly dissapointed that many of you did not vote for the picture because you "didn't know what it was". I feel the picture fit the challenge 100% and that the title I chose for my picture did give a clue as to what it is.

 Comments Made During the Challenge

I hesitate to make comments since I am obviously not an expert, but here goes: the photo meets the challenge, so I didn't score it low. It is just my opinion that a photo should be able to "stand alone" apart from the challenge (not sure that makes sense, in other words, it should be a good subject even if you don't know what challenge it was entered into). I felt that was where this photo was a little weak -- I couldn't see it having meaning apart from the challenge. So, I didn't score it as high as others.

good colour and patterns nicely abstracted

Sorry I could only give your image a 1. I just can't see anything interesting about it. I can't see it as a part of anything, just areas of light and shade. Just my opinion though.

Your photo has no narrative content or pictorial representation making it somewhat abstract. The problem I am having is, I don̢۪t know if you have met the challenge since I don̢۪t know your subject. You focus is week and the blown out area of white in the middle of your photo distracts me.

I don't get it.

It's hard to tell what this is.

Very abstract but not bad at all.
