 We had a wet and cold snap down here in Austin this week and the leaves are finally starting to fall. I thought they looked like butterflies as they drifted to the ground. I saw this one floating in a pool of rain water just off the sidewalk and grabbed this quick shot with my Nex-6 and an 18-200 zoom.

This is my first entry to DPChallenge after a friend suggested I join. I'm delighted to be here and welcome any suggestions for a newcomer. Happy Holidays!

Thanks everyone for the feedback and encouragement. I too wish this shot had better focus and that I could have framed it a little differently so that the crinkle of the leaf (resembling a butterfly wing) was more evident. But that's the wonderful thing I've discovered in my short time in this group. Already, I'm a little more aware of such things as I'm composing the shot. I'm definitely benefiting from the challenge!
