My dog, Josie, lying in the sun. I added a slight gaussian blur and fixed the curves. I also cropped the picture very slightly.

Nice - very nice; i think it coud be well done as a squarely cut out; so it' possibel to cut off the dark left zone and you're get clother to the dogs mind :-)

Congrats on where you placed ... I thought it should have done better. I disagree with most here in that the hind leg SHOULD be in the picture -- it helps me know the dog was all curled up. Without that piece of leg, we might think it were all stretched out in the sun or something. But hey, that's my opinion -- clearly only one voice and you have to create a picture that gets most folks to vote favorably. Good luck on your next challenge.

Good pup. Nice idea and the dog is pretty darn cute.

I like the way you`ve framed this picture..it really adds interest and also gives a good feel for the dogs character.
Would probably have benefitted from cropping out the leg? on the extreme left and there`s a little loss of detail on the highlights on the dog`s muzzle, but that aside, I think it`s a good animal portrait which really captures personality.
Good work

I'm not one who generally appreciates the various pet photos 'cause mostly it's folks trying to make their pet shot fit the challenge... this is clearly an exception. Nicely done. BW was a good choice. Your angle is most certainly interesting and it is certainly "part" of the dog. Your choice of what to include/exclude is where this photo really shines. I get the whole mood of the dog without the need for having the whole dog in the shot. Best in challenge so far! I'm issuing a rare 10. Congrats and good luck.

I really like this shot, might benifit from a slightly different crop that would include the top of the ear, and eliminate the nose and hind leg. Good work.

I LOVE this shot! It's wonderful, makes me feel kinda sad, as the dog seems sad. Great composition and framing and nice b&w treatment.

Picture is good but not sure why you kept that object on left side.

Very nice. I would just crop that vertical piece from the left.
