 This is a view of a segment of a Wayne Trapp sculpture that is on the grounds of my local art museum.

I applied some simple level and curve adjustments... then I applied Paul Butzi's "split tone" color curve. Then I resized, added a border, and submitted...

I would have given this a 7 or an 8. Very surprising score.

As the challenge was 'parts' I really didn't think it mattered what it was. I can't believe it scored so poorly.

Can't beleive this only made 274th place! In my opinion it deserved a much higher ranking.

Ive been quickly casting my eye over this cool image for a few days now, i have just realized its not ice ! Like it more now, still retains my 9 vote though

I hesitate to make comments since I am obviously not an expert, but here goes: the photo meets the challenge and is in good focus. It is just my opinion that a photo should be able to "stand alone" apart from the challenge (not sure that makes sense, in other words, it should be a good subject even if you don't know what challenge it was entered into). I felt that was where this photo was a little weak -- I couldn't see it having meaning apart from the challenge.

I have no idea what this is a picture of, its some sort of manufactured metalic object? But I don't know what. I think that's what make it so appealing. That and the texture of the metal, the tones and the lighting. Oh yes and I think the black border enhances the image.
