Street Photography is difficult here and since Garry Winogrands style is special to me I just had to enter. Taken with my phone as walking a big camera around just changes the dynamics of everything around you.
Most of the work you see of him is B&W But he did not shoot this exclusively. For me this image had to be in colour as it formed an important part of the story to be told. It's not only people who are separated by their addiction to electronic devices but those who are alone waiting for somebody. Funny how phones are marketed as something that keeps you connected. The colour is part of Valentine and the strands hanging from the tree sets the theme as well.
Not a great score but one I was very happy with on the day. After shooting a dozen shots with my phone I put my phone away and only spent time with my wife. It wasnt my idea of valentine at a eating place because the crowds just got to me and we both left as soon as we were done.

Good try at a candid Winogrand shot but the color is too much to see through. Maybe if converted to black & white.

It does seem as though most of the folks are less than passionate about anything other than their phones.
