A nice idea, but not very well executed. Too much out of focus is the primary problem.

I hesitate to make comments since I am obviously not an expert, but here goes: the photo meets the challenge. I think a sharper focus and a different angle -- maybe something diagonal -- might have added interest to the subject.

functional

2 things.

1) You couldn't even get up out of your computer chair to meet the challenge?

2) It's all out of focus.

zero. (one, but only because zero doesn't exist) :-p

To make this affective, I think at least a part of it should be in focus. Subject is not particulary interesting. I think if you are shooting a common subject, the photo has to be striking to make it work i.e. dramatic lighting or an unusual angle. Good luck.

The colors aren't right and the picture is too out of focus. Also, the angle is not very pleasing.

difficult to shoot the everyday...cant tell if your lighting is natural or a monitor..natural may be the most interesting here

Not much effort here, I'm afraid

none of the keys seem to be in focus which is disturbing (to me) because my eyes keep wanting to focus on a letter/number/character/whatever. Great idea, though!

colors seem to yellowish otherwise great idea

not in focus

I don't mind a selective focus - but I don't see any part that is in clear focus?

out of focus.

Needs more focus

I actually got the same idea, but my keyboard was SO dirty I couldn't post a picture of it. I'd have done a deeper DOF, maybe BW

not one bit of this picture is in focus. Light and composition don't impress me either.

not bad.. but there's no one point where its in total focus.
