| I don't get the smoke on the board... I find it distracting. Am I missing something? Without it, one would get a much better view of the pawns, and in doing so, improve the overall composition. |

| I think this would be better with the lighting moved slightly forward so as to highlight the top of the subject |

| your main subject remains in darkness while the nonessential parts are lit. |

| i don't like the angle, but the idea is neato. i guess I would want to see a bit more of the knight--the half pawn is distracting. 5 |
