 This shot is actually quite heavily edited, with about 5 different layers and a few masks. In the original (below), the snake was too well camouflaged, so I tried to bring it out a little without changing the earthy tones and warmth of the original.


While it doesn't show here, this snake's head was about six inches across.

Confirmed. Boa Constrictor Imperator, common name is "Costa Rican Red-Tailed Boa". Beautiful snake. Now why didn't you reach down and remove that branch from the top of his head before you took the shot? ha ha.
