 I've always wondered about this sign and what it meant, until today when I followed the road just after the sign to see...

Turns out in 1849 a small group of Black miners staked their claim there, and called the new settlement the "Negro Bar". They had 700 residents at one time. Several years later a flood wiped out the buildings, etc. and the people moved out, and the plots of land were then sold to the City of Folsom sometime thereafter. The area is now a State Park. Interesting!

Your focus seems very good on the sign, but it looks like a shallow depth of field when I look at the tree and reeds on the left. Colouring is good and the sign certainly stands out as the main focus point when I first glanced at the image.

Composition leaves a little to be desired. I find the sign interesting, but the photo is not appeaing.

This is fantastic. You'd have to be from the south to get the full impact. Can't believe you found this. Photo is beautiful also. Nice and clear focus, good lighting, nice composition. I love it. It's worth a 10 to a southern.
