 My son had collected army guys since he was 2, now 22. We ended up using over 200 army guys in these shots however less than 50 were shown in this picture. He owns over 1000 army guys for his collection. I used my flower vase as the main major hill prop up background and used a organizer box as the "hill" along with ferns for the "jungle accent". My son set up the army guys and I taught him through the camera lens of what I wanted to create.. he did awesome and it took both of us over 4 hrs to just set them all up and to make them stay, we changed the settings many times. I took over 50 pictures in different settings so I hope I chose the right one, but I chose my favorite one. This was a really fun photography challenge to do.

The idea was great but your focus point was off. Try shooting this again but focus on one or two of the guys in the foreground, closer to the lens, and let the flag and other guys go blurry. f/5 is a good place to start, but you could go down to f/3.5 or f/2.8 as well. Play around with how you set up the guys in the foreground (how close they are to the camera, whether you see all of them in the frame or just their head etc.) to see what you like. Another tip: watch your background! The guys you did focus on, up on the hill, get lost because they are the same color as the flag. If you would have used the green or yellow guys up there, they would have shown up much better.

I like the idea and theme. For me, it lacks focus. I would've like to see one of the men clearly in focus with everybody else out of focus. Also, the white balance is off.
