Those poop stains are called "flags" by many. You'll see them all over rock walls like hahn has captured here, because that's where they like to nest. Golden Eagles and Prairie Falcons are relatively easy to find using these flags.

He looks like he sits there a lot! I have only seen one once and it was so far away. There are a coupe in the Ottawa area I am told. Thanks!
