 Subject: Minikin - Stray cat that my wife adopted 5 years ago who lives on our back porch. Favorite spot is on top of the barbeque pit (black cover).

Photo: Canon 20D, 70-200 f/2.8L IS lens at 200mm, f/2.8, 1/80

Post Processing - Photoshop CS: Levels - Auto, Saturation +13, Right Eye - Brightness +13, Both Eyes - Saturation + 14, Nose - Saturation + 6, Hue -4

(Note I say SHE adopted - I was the one who had to catch her to take her to the vet to get fixed and I was the one that got bit and had to sweat a week with the cat in observation until we were sure it didn't have rabies.)

Actually I have to disagree with the others, I like your DOF in this pic, "her" face seems to POP out at you, and after all it is the face that makes animals, like people unique. There is enough discernable to get a feeling of her size/shape and if you've seen one grey cats butt (and side), you've seen em all IMHO, excellent job!

I would suggest a tighter crop on the face...as another poster commented, the dof doesn't quite suit the pic. I like to use a shallow dof when the background is distracting-- thus i think a deeper one would be nice on this kitty to capture the rest of the body in tight focus. But I am no pro, and still have to shoot a hundred pics to get 2 i like.
