My daughter and her son were sharing a malted milk at IHOP when I took this picture. A malted milk is not usually thought of as something used to convey ideas or information from one person to another, but I couldn't resist the information transferred by my grandson's eyes.

Love the shot - wish it were more in focus...

The subject of the photo seems to be out of focus, while the background is sharp.

There's a lot of feeling in this photo....the look, the smile. Unfortunately the out of focus subject make this too much of a snapshot. Some color adjustment, also, might help balance in yellow glow of the indoor lighing.

Very cute snapshot! It's a bit blurry, but I love the look on the little guy's face! And you gotta love IHOP!

Nice image of mum and child. A little sharper and this would be an excelent shot.

How refreshing

lovely expressions, but they are not in focus, and the windows in the bg are in sharp focus

Too bad this is blurry. It would have scored quite well if the focus was good I think. That said, I love the genuinely joyful expressions on these two. It is obvious they are having fun.

better to focus on the subject than the background

The look of the child says it all and you have caputred that very well. The focus - if it was deliberate to focus beyond the subjects then I think that was probably a mistake. The angle of the photo does not help it either. Colours are good. best of luck

This was a great idea. The boy's face is so expressive and fits the title perfectly. You possibly intended it to have a soft focus, but I would have preferred a sharper focus. And if possible, I would try to move them in front of a solid background.

the focus should be on the theme i.e. the faces and not on the background

I make a point of commenting on my lowest scores: I get the concept but sadly the shot is very weak, the focus being on none of the two subjects...

Had this been focused, it would have been a pretty sweet shot...

Out of focus.

Way too much out of focus, otherwise only an average shot. Good try though.

Focus is quite soft on the foreground subjects. I suspect this was shot "from the hip" and you did what you could.

not sure how this meets the challenge
