The problem with your photo is not the water, its perfect but the surroundings are not -its crap- The surrounding have no feeling of depth so your picture looks very flat
no real details in the leaves or rocks - I think if you jst had it cropped or reshoot - bigger of course you would of ranked higher
The viewer wants to be placed within the image and feel like the water is gushing out of the screen onto them - but not to the intent of drowning them, more like having the feeling of being a person standing on the water edge with the water flowing by, quietly and peacefully
anyway this is how I feel a picture of waterfalls should be portrayed + more moss would of made it alot nicer

I run into this same situation all of the time. You did an excellent job with the water blur but theres not much of an interesting surronding to the river. The rock and the trees in the background take away from the picture. The trick is to find and sit up where the whole image is interesting without the water blur then when you take the shot with the water blur it is excellent. Kevin |

Very pretty. Nice water (ND?), a bit busy but still very seasonal. I fany faults it's a bit short of depth in the subject, but good luck. |

Definitely one of my top picks in this challenge. Something I would hang on my wall. The color in the foreground adds significantly to this photo. Good job. 10 |

Ok, I LOVE the color contrast between the red relaves in the forefront and the eart tones behind them, as well as the soft water, however, the rest of it looks a little soft on the focuse, particularly the underside of the one large boulder in the middle of the pic. and the smaller rocks to the left rear of it. As it is it's still a 6 in my book, if those components were sharper I would have probably rated it an 8. Still a wonderfull shot though!

Nice, if it was the only photo of colored leafs in the challenge it would be even better but there are so many.
It's a nice picture but after the 20th the wow factor is gone (not your fault)
The waterfall adds something here..
On it's own without all those other pictures this would realy have given me a WOW.
Good luck.

something is bothering me, water looks great, but the rocks don't seem sharp. Not sure what might the reason be |

great scene and colors, but poor composition in my opinion. The top right does not fit in and does not add anything to the image. A different viewpoint might have solved this. |

I really liked the composition of this one, each corner creating the frame, but the silk effect on the water seems out of place. :/ Of course, a different texture of the water may also have been too distracting against the 'rough' texture in the rest of the shot... |

Wonderful wilderness scene, love the silky water effect in this composition. The red leaves at the left really add spark to the photo. |

The contrasts of colors and textures is very nice in this image. The composition is very clever in capturing all of them appropriately, except, perhaps for the little blotch of soil on the bottom right, which sort of bothers the water. Perhaps if the camera was a few inches higher, a better compromise could be reached.
The lighting is really nice. It looks a bit sharp for an overcast day, falling very directionally. Maybe I just don't see enough of these in real life, but I think it really makes the picture stand out. |
