Photographer’s Notes
I got completely distracted trying to capture motion using a 10 second exposure. Nothing I tried was very pleasing to me. So I shifted my thinking to taking a ‘good picture’ that happened to require a 10 second exposure.

My wife has a dark red orchid. In my dark room, not to be confused with my darkroom, I shot it from a number of points of view in very low light. While nice, the image didn’t ‘pop.’ I did a black & white conversion and applied a few other Photoshop tricks. This is starting to look lke something I might want to linger over.

Hope you like it.

I didn't get to comment on this before rollover and I would've never imagined you'd score so low with such a beautiful image.... In hindsight, I can see how voters would've been looking for something that "screamed" long-exposure, but personally I couldn't look away from this one; it was one of my favorites and (10's).

Beautiful all around..

I love the way you chose to go with an image that does not scream "long exposure". No motion blur, no light streaks, no creamy skies and water...

The majority of the voters will probably not like it, though. :-(
