very moody. too much shadow, loses the meaning of the photo. If I didn't have the title the photo couldn't speak for it's self. |

I like it a lot, but I have a feeling this photo will get underrated... |

honestly, this one takes some time to identify the subject matter, not that this is a bad thing in itself, but it is good only when the 'discovered' subject matter is either abstract (ie, there is no discovery and one looks inward) or surprising and captivating to the viewer. bluntly, this is not surprising or captivating. but you did capture a mood, which is more important and more difficult to create. The problem I have with this is that there are three focal points, the sleeve, the fingers, and the ashtray. Take one of them out by cropping and you have a good shot. LOVE...and I mean LOVE the dark black shadows, keep those up because not a lot of people here do those well. those are really good. |

Love the selection the light made here! It seems very natural, but even if it's not, congrats on that! I really dig it, so 9 from me... |

Cool idea. I found that the disconnect between his hand and his arm threw me off, though. |

I like the lines of the lighting, but to me there's too much black area to keep the eye interested for very long. |

I love this shot and really believe it captures the essence of the theme. . . but not enough of the player is visible, imho. A slighlty more elevated shot would high lighted the hands more. The richness of the blacks and greys is perfect. The only added effect might have been some smoke wafting up from a lit cigarette since thash tray is there. BOL |
