Went out to Liwa again. It was hot. Really hot. This was my first time to stay until sunset, which was interesting. It gets pretty creepy out there at night...

Thanks so much for the votes and comments, very glad to see this on the front page!

Didn't have time to comment while in voting. Coming back to this image - very beautiful, surreal, and otherworldly. The play of light and shadows is fantastic! Glad that this got in the top 3 and that you came back safely from the encounter.

You showed us that sunsets aren't all about reds and oranges. Nice soft tones, lines and shadows. Congrats on the Yellow.

Thanks Rob, for risking your life and traveling far into the desert for this shot. The drive home in excessive heat and
total darkness is what 'taking one for the team' is all about. We appreciate your bravery and are celebrating your ribbon!!!

beautiful, smooth, very stylish, love that you chose against a gawdy border. I can see this on my wall above my bed. oh, and the settle colors are outstanding, especially in a challenge where is seems everything is burned into oblivion. Don't know if you thought all that through, but the capture is captivating. One of my faves. Solid 9

Love the colors and textures. I'm wondering if a tighter crop might simplify and make this more dramatic. What a fantastic place.
