Slightly cropped and sharpened from original. There wasn't much wildfowl action in the area that day, the photo would have been better if there were some ducks or geese walking across the road!

Greetings from the Critique Club :)

Hi Tim :)

I think you have a compositionally excellent photo here. There is nothing at all that I think could improve the angle. Obviously, as you mentioned in your comment, some fowl would have been nice! I'm sure it would have been very impractical to wait around for that to happen as well. Maybe catching an automobile in the frame would have created some more impact as well :)

The color in the foreground seems a tad flat but the exposure of the clouds is excellent. It's not easy to catch that detail and you have done well with it :) I believe that a slightly larger aperture.. maybe F5.6, and a slightly slower shutter speed... maybe 1/250 or 1/125 could have improved the overall color saturation in this image.

The concept of a 'leading line' is playing a small role in this image as well.. the yellow road line is leading the viewer's eye right to your sign... that is a nice touch!

Keep up the good work :)

Nah.. Speed up for wildfowl ;) This picture will do well I think for three reasons. One, the colours are very nice. Two, it has a good composition. Three, it is very crisp. Oh, and four, people like little ducklings ;) jgillard9

Very nicely taken shot! Color, exposure and framing are all very nice. That's a neat sign you found, more detailed than most. You would have gotten a 10 for a duck in the frame (yes, I do ask for the moon and the stars....) In this case, you provided the moon, that's good enough for an 8. (I'm being silly.) Swash

Good coloration. Interesting sign. Composition is pretty fair. A slight bit underexposed.

A wonderful change from all the duck crossing signs. I like te clouds alot too. They look painted on.

What do you do for "tame fowl", run them down. Beautiful photo. Love the composition, the colors, the clouds especially. Even though the trees show it's fall the grass is still so beautiful and green. Really good shot. Worth a 9

i liked this pic a lot because of the brightness and vividness of the trees and sky. the sign is ok, but the surroundings make up for it

Nice framing and composition. The colours are very realistic and I love trees without leaves.

How cute....fancy sign. We just have the yellow one's. Little bit dark, but good focus.

Compositionally perfect. The road makes my eye move into the photo, and to the trees, and the trees to the sky! Lovely! 10-Annida

Lighting in the foreground is a bit flat. Better to have waited for the cloud cover to clear. Not bad, though.
