This motel was sold five years ago at a foreclosure auction. The proposed condominium development never materialized and the property is on the market again in an increasingly decaying state, with weeds, gutters falling off, windows boarded up, etc. etc. I took this through a gap in the fence around the swimming pool and kept the darkened edges in the image during processing to reflect that a passing glimpse was all that was provided.

For some reason my mind wandered to the public swimming pools of my youth in the UK, which, I hasten to add, were beautifully maintained. The one in Plymouth, which is circular, was very special as you could switch back and forth between swimming in the pool and in the sea water surrounding it where you could swim out and climb onto a raft anchored some way out. A by-product of that reverie was coming across this set of photographs by Gigi Cifali. Swimming in urban decay

I wonder if they stock that with fish? :-)

cropping in a little tighter might have given better scoring results, maybe. The dark areas on the right and left, and the houses in the background did not work well for me personally.

This is a creepy photo - but definitely meets the challenge subject.
