 thank you kind commenters.

this is Epilobium parviflorum, small cousin to willowherb or fireweed, more distant cousin to Zauschneria/E canum/California fuschia. it is a sneaky abundant weed of which 100 photos later I have become fond. it also has medicinal uses.

I would have thought that this would finish higher. It did in my lineup. Lovely photo and great interpretation of zippers.

This was a tie for me for #2 zipper (with vlado's creature) - what amazes me is the fact that I cannot fathom its size and in my feverish mind it could be a giant cage totally zipped up.

...beautiful tones and light, and I just love wispy things such as these. ( oh...and the first thing that popped into my head was, "Ah! zippers!" when I happened upon this photograph.) My favorite of the challenge. 10

Very cool view of the subject, good focus and perfect DOF. I like the tones, strikes me as a color print film manually enlarged with some actual filters and pushed a stop or so. Well done.
