Nicely done, Paddy! Just missed out on a TT by a whisker!

One of my few 7s for the challenge.

I really wonder how many people knocked this for the "tilted horizon."

I thought that at first, but then figured it was a sidewalk in the foreground. Well designed sidewalks aren't level in areas where there's actually weather. They are indeed tilted to allow for the water to run off rather than remain on the surface and cause damage. I would imagine the same theory applies to ledges as you say this is. Where I live, we get a lot of rain in the winter. There's enough tilt on some of our sidewalks that my ankles hurt after a time!

I suppose there's a lesson we should take away from this. Watch how much of a tilted surface is in a photo where the horizon is a essential piece? I dunno, heh.

Thanks for the comments everyone, some mentioned the horizon wasnt straight but it actually is. What your seeing on the slant was the marble ledge that I was shooting from. If I straightened it, then it put everything else of skew. I thought it was unique for the challenge and it didnt place to poorly :)

SO MANY right angles!! I wish the "horizon" were leveled instead of the "bridge"... so it would have scored more highly... but maybe I'm wrong and... you'll ribbon!

This is perfect for the challenge topic.

Would love some perspective correction with all the skewed verticals.

Very nice tones, shapes and a good eye too. As well as a willingness to stoop to anything. Just kidding. It's lovely. Could be by Henry Foster and that's no faint praise. Thank you.

I like everything about this shot. The choice to use B&W, the sharpness, the depth, the reflection... except for the tilted horizon. It's not adding to the image.
The overexposed building in the back bothers me a bit, also, but just a bit and i can live with that. The more i look at it, the less it bothers me. The horizon is what's killing this image for me. :-(

Interesting angle of view and good choice of crop.
