 Taken on the sunrise the morning after Hurricane Ana left the island, this is the Diamond Head Lighthouse. The tail end of the storm was what created all these interesting clouds. I'm shooting this with the sun behind my back so the clouds acted as a nice backdrop, catching all the early morning glow. The entire sky was a very pretty milky orange.

My "Plan A" was to use this for the "Something New" challenge since I'd never entered anything shot from down on the beach here before, but, I had entered a shot of this lighthouse from the top of the hill above the lighthouse. Different, but still similar enough for the me feel like I was cheating so I chucked that idea.

If the lighthouse was in Something New, then I was originally going with this for FS:

because i was happy my favorite boat is now back after being gone for over a year. Plus it was almost exactly 2 years to the day that I got my favorite boat shot of them all of this boat. But...I decided it just wasn't good enough, the next shot of this boat will have to be super spectacular for me to enter it. I'm hoping I get that this winter.

Very dramatic. I like how the lower half almost mirrors the upper half but it puts its own unique spin on things. Beautiful photo overall.

Gorgeous location, great sky, but seems as though there is almost too much going on all at once. Then again, it makes the lighthouse incidental to its environment, and that is fitting.

So then their is the folks out there that just make the rest of us look amateur. LOL. Great timing, great colors, great post process technique, and great composition. One of my top choices, good luck.
