 We had an uncharacteristically rainy day today so I decided to tape this dried orchid flower to the window and shoot it against the background of rain drops on the window and a local park near my home.

I put the camera on a tripod and made five images with varying settings, then combined them in PhotoshopCC's HDR feature. The resulting image was sent to Lightroom5 for additional processing. Most of the processing was done in Lightroom, although Perfect Effects 8 was used for dynamic contrast and a light vignette. Lastly, the image was returned to PhotoshopCC to clean up some dust and scratches and for a High Pass sharpening.

Not crazy about the framing, but otherwise love this. And yet, it doesn't sit quite right. Almost gives the effect that it lives in the middle of the glass, but at the same time the OOF elements in the forward part of the leaves distract too much. Had you given us EVERYTHING forward of the glass in focus I think - THINK - I would have liked this more. Still an 8.

I like this - I do get the sense that everything is falling from the shape of the water drops, was the flower actually falling or stuck to the glass?
