I like everything abut this. To me the processing is spot on. Love the composition too and the background. Congrats on a great finish.

Good use of shallow DOF. The subject is cute. The dark BG seems to take away from the whole feel though. I don't get a real strong POP when viewing this. The image seems to be bottom heavy. Still voting it an 8.

I love squirrels, and I love this shot. Feels a little heavy-handed, and a tad dark. Looks like the background was softened a lot, but your layer mask brought back in noise near the animal. The square crop doesn't do much for me either. Great capture, but the processing isn't on mark. 6

Super-sharply shown, silky small squirrel, stealing sweet sustenance. September surrendering sunlight, soft snow spreading, serenely sleeping sierra. Soon, surely, spring's showers see sprouting saplings!

Thanks for the inspiration, sorry for the silly poem. lol
