Nice composition, I like the shadows and the tilt...

Excellent viewpoint. Processig is a bit OTT causing some posterisation of the shadow and tones.

THe street lights have created some interesting shadows - but it feels too bright to be night - okay I know that is a city for you! There are some strange artifacts - as if this were sharpenned too much - odd stark lines of gray.

Ahm yes. The 3rd St. girls with an interesting inter play of shadows. Nice angle.

nice angle of view and the shadows are very interesting too - most of all I like the idea: finally someone who goes beyond the usual 'cityscape silhouette with lights reflected in the water'

The shadows on the sidewalk are fascinating!

though it would obviously have been taken at night, it isn't really obvious that that is the case (what with the omission of sky or street lights etc). however, i personally have no qualms about that and suitability for the challenge won't influence the score here. overall i think this is a shot that has character, heaps of style, lovely lighting, a nice arse, great depth of field, and is very original in terms of composition and cropping. it's a grower this one - more i look more i like. i think it would be nice to see more of the surroundings, though, to explain why they are standing there (is it a bar, a fire drill, just a bunch of smokers finding refuge??). 9.

Interesting perspective and I like the multiple shadows from the night lights (8)

I don't think the voters in general will love this one, but I think it's really good. The suggestive out-of-frame feeling gives you a pretty good idea about whats going on above. Really sharp and the duotone works out perfectly. Very tasteful.

IMO this off angle doesn't work here. Not sure what the subject is, is it the cig., butt, or is it she hooker getting a John...

Very appealing composition. I would call this something along the lines of 'a conversation', because the shot is really about two pairs of people and their shadows talking, not necessarily about the street itself.

Though I'm sure you took this at night, and I'm not counting off for it - I'm also sure you're getting lots of comments on how this really isn't obviously a night shot- it almost looks like daylight. You show some great creativity on this shot.
