Thank you for the comments. Very instructive! I took this picture in 2006, and yes, the idea was to actually have the branches and leaves in front, which gave the picture a nice coloring and an interesting feeling. I took another one from a different angle and it was too green and flat. I agree that some soft focus on the branches might give this a nicer perspective, but there's very little you can do with a basic compact camera. Same with the overexposed bits.
I admit I'm a little disappointed at the grading. It's not my best picture and I wasn't expecting this to be my personal best or anything, but a 4.84 seems to be a bit too low, IMO.

I'm not crazy about all the tree branches and leaves in the way of the mill. I guess that was the idea behind it though... |

Nice framing and good subject. The image looks a bit over-exposed. I also wonder what the image would look like with less depth of field putting the mill in focus and the rest in a softer look. |
