So....

um....

The lantern is lit.

It's a really bright, very pretty, incredibly annoying lantern.

Because it's all tiny little LEDs in the base!! See those tiny little glowy lights?

Yup -- that's it!

It reflects off the top inverted coney thingy. Here's another shot that shows that a bit.



I actually was going to use that one, but my daughter didn't like that her eyes completely disappeared behind her bangs, so she thought she looked like a mannequin.

I have the flu.

I'm going to bed now.

It was intentional. I've really been trying to play with more of an old masters/rembrandt toning. Sometimes not quite that toning, but the yellows and the greens you find on some older paintings. Sometimes I manage to hit it, sometimes it's not quite there.

I should probably say , would be better if the main light source was the lantern

I agree with your daughter about her eyes. This is better.

One question: Was the greenish cast an intentional processing decision? The WB in the outtake image is very true, so I'm curious.

Nicely imagined, composed and lit. I might have liked to see more light from the lamp to support the illusion that that is what is lighting the subject.
