 I considered a dozen other images, which may or may not have been "better" than this. But I felt that this image symbolizes one of my greatest photographic accomplishments to date. A different frame from this location won the Americas Region of the Urban Photographer of the Year international contest. Perhaps this one will meet a similar fate on DPC.

Ah, this is so rich. What a perfect example of why the scores on DPC are truly meaningless. The brother of this image won an international photography contest, competing against 11,500 entries from 79 countries. On DPC it didn't even make it to a 6.0.

*sigh*

This is why I don't enter "Best of..." and rarely enter FS anymore. NOT because I won an international competition (!!), but because the ones I really love usually don't do well in them and I end up disappointed.

Truly a shame that this photo didn't score higher and place in the upper half of the challenge. I struggle with the score issue on here, and I have to keep reminding myself that the value of DPC isn't the scores or ribbons, but what is gained by entering challenges and expanding my photography skills. While I'm sorry your photo didn't do better, it does help me to see someone as talented as you are struggle with the score stuff too.

I loved this when it was in a challenge and I still love it in the Best of 2014. It is so busy. but so very interesting and the contrast with the man buffing the floor just really works in the overall composition.
