Not too bad for a first entry. Keep it up, and you'll always find folks more than willing to answer workflow questions in the forums.

Thanks for the comments. I have been hearing the same for other members, and I originally thought it was a lighter image. I think I may have been a bit a victim of the export process out of lightroom. Something I am going to have to work more on. Again, thanks for the comments. |

First and foremost, thank you for your service. Having read your comments, I appreciate the meaning and symbolism behind your image.
The low key you were striving for may have been too low key. The image is so dark it is difficult to even discern the subject. The image may be slightly OOF, also.
Your set up is satisfactory: military boots at attention. I like the negative space on the left - as if the boots are walking away from that part of your life - and so you noted in your comments.
With a different lighting set-up, I think this would have been a much stronger image. Lighting is something with which I struggle, too. So...
Do not be discouraged - keep on clickin'! |

In my opinion this could have a lot more impact with better lighting. |
