 This is a combination of 3 images, all taken on 1/28/15. One was a self portrait taken with a self timer and the other two were images of trees in my front yard.
Disqualification Details
You must create your entry from a single capture. We are aware that you had intended to use the trees as a texture, but this image falls strongly on the "double exposure" end of that spectrum, the trees are arguably the subject of the image.

I like the creativity and mood of this image. I think its mood strongly matches your title. Sorry about the DQ, but sometimes the coolest images suffer that fate. I think this technique might be very useful in an Expert Editing challenge (like Steampunk).

I'm with the folks here. I've had something like this in mind many times and stayed away. I suspect it'll be in the DQ bin by afternoon, but if it's not then I'd surely like an explanation of why it's not.

It is illegal for advanced editing. So for next time, pls know that three different images wouldn't be allowed but unless challenged or placing in the top five, it would not require validation.

Interesting concept. Artistic rather than photographic, but I am sure that was your point. Does not really appeal to me.

Good one. I love how some elements of the trees blend in with the silhouette. Especially around the mouth.
I'm eager to see how can this be done within Advanced Editing ruleset. Shooting through a mask of some sort comes to mind.
