 I recently spent time at a friend's property, and I was amazed to find this ragged little magpie feeding two storm bird chicks. In fact, there were two ragged magpies feeding the chicks, which leads to the assumption, that some cheeky storm bird laid their eggs in the magpie nest. I spent quite a lot of time stalking these guys, over three days, and only once did I see the two chicks in the same tree.

Great capture, and thanks for sharing the interesting story. That birds are the descendants of dinosaurs is so very apparent in the chick to the left. It looks so much like dinosaurs of the raptor class. The magpie would be right at home in my garden but I'm not familiar with storm birds - maybe too cold for them down south.
