Well, hopefully it qualifies both for 'good ole' days and the education topic.

It was tricky!

This was done at night with almost no ambient light. The letters were drawn with a white LED flashlight, so they came out white on black bricks. Then the whole wall was briefly lit up with the same flashlight to make mortar lines visible.

All was done under the rain (the camera was under umbrella, don't worry, but i myself got completely wet). All because i have bright ideas usually only 3 or so hours before the deadline =) 30 secs at f/8, Nikon AF-S VR 24-120G lens.

Took about 6 attempts. Main challenge was to go to the wall and start drawing on the right row of bricks after clicking the remote on the camera.

Crop, desaturate, invert, resize, bump up contrast in photoshop, nothing fancy, not even USM.

NO WALLS WERE PAINTED DURING THE PRODUCTION OF THIS SHOT.

I cant believe that this is not real spray paint. I gave it a 10 but after reading all the crap you had to go through to get this. You definitely deserved a higher score for effort.

what a great shot. I can't believe you got a 4.7

how does this not say "school days"?
voters are crazy.

I thought you would have and should have done better with this. I gave you a 10. I was singing this song in my head for two days after voting. Good Luck next time!

Thanks =) As i said in one of the replies to the comments, i don't even care how this scored, i was so happy and proud to pull this off, the score doesn't even matter.

At least those that got it thought it was cool =) And so did i.

Thanks again for the encouragements =)

132nd, 4.702?!?

you were robbed - this was original and emotive, it captured a memory of a generation (maybe that generation is not as big as i think)

looking at the uneven pattern of votes there seems to be a clear sign that too many people just did not get it.

keep up the good work!

awesome job, too bad your score doesn't reflect the effort. keep on shooting! your talent and imagination will get you where you want to be.

This a good Idea. But it is not original thinking IMHO

We don't need no education
We don't need no thought control
No dark sarcasm in the classroom
Teachers leave the kids alone.....
Great Photograph, I knew where you were going with it when I saw the picture, I didn’t even have to read the title. The only thing distracting to me is the solid black and very thick border, but that’s an personal opinion. Great job!

I like the referece to pinkfloyd. But it seems to be a bit of an obscure refrence. I also felt it left a little desired in fucus.

Though validated, this looks like something I could make from scratch in Photoshop, and as such holds non photographic appeal for me personally. 3, just-married

Great! Simple, but good message, very original. High score. Great tune, btw.
