Took a quick road trip to Newport, OR where commercial fishing ships are based.
I saw ribbons tied along the historic boardwalk.
One of the notes posted explained that they are part of the "Blessing of the Fleet - Trail of Ribbons."
Each ribbon represented a lost commercial fisherman from Lincoln County Oregon.
There were many ribbons...

In the background is the iconic Newport Bay Bridge over Yaquina Bay.

Yes, I know, it's a shoehorn at best. More of a DNMC...

Very fine image. It seems to be two moods dwelling happily as one. First there are the muted blues and browns of the riverside scene, and then there are the bright kerchief and the colorful dots of light. So, nice. I've gone back and forth about the orange kerchief. On the one hand it seems, to me, discordant. On the other hand its translucency brings the water through quite beautifully. The latter prevails.
