*Hello from Sid and the Critique Club*
Initially a pleasing and interesting image, butâ€Â¦
the more I look the more confused I become. If this had been entered into the desat challenge I could have understood a lot better but I'm left wondering why you have desaturated significant portions of it. I have to assume from your title that you have tried to create an impression of frost?
The big problem is that the water reflections show huge inaccuracies of the desat areas thus reducing the image's impact. I think you would have had a much stronger image if you had not done this processing. I'm all for experimentation, thats what digital photography is about but I'm sorry to say this is one that didn't work.
The original image has some lovely tones particularly in the unprocessed foreground, I am using my imagination to visualise the original scene and I prefer what I see, it looks very atmospheric and inviting.
Thanks for submitting your image for critique, I hope this helps, Sid |
