It's funny, while I liked your shot for the Joel challenge, it seemed....incomplete somehow. Then I saw this and it all made sense. This is it. Whole and complete. The softness of the editing treatment, and that razor sharpness of the right eye, yup, yup, yup. My highest rated shot in quite some time. |

Nice shot at a 19th century look of deterioration and and an appropriate subject with one reservation: the subject is perhaps a bit too sophisticated and the pose too knowing, which is to say that it rises above the obviously prurient intent of those earlier photos. The face and hair interaction are, however, exceptionally enticing - maybe it is prurient after all. |

Lucky she's in a warm climate. Nice wet plate rendition. Well done. |

I've got to wonder if the wet plate look, if added in post and not on the original, might have nudged this over the edge for Advanced. Leaks were allowed, but I'm thinking the textures may be over the top here. Voting as if they're not, but a DQ wouldn't surprise me. |

Excellent nude and I really like the wet plate look. Perhaps the eye is slight too contrasty to really convince? I'd really love to work with wet plate collodion, that mixture of pin sharp where it matters and gorgeous fall off of focus is what I aspire to in much of my work. |
