Greetings from the Critique Club!

This shot has a lot of potential in my eyes. Unfortunately, the first thing I can tell you is that there is not enough light. It seems like it's in the shadow, did you try a shot with the flash? Or a few lamps around it?
The composition needs some work too. you have a lonely little tile in the middle of a very large ground, did you try some more angled shots, from the side? The other thing about the composition is the crack in the board just between the A and the B which is VERY very distracting; my eyes just keep on going to it and staring at it, because it is so interesting, hehe.
Another weird thing about the presentation is that the Tsquare isn't exactly in line in the square on the board, which is also a bit strange in my eyes. Did you try to get closer to the square?
It certainly fits the challenge, and I look forward to seeing more from you in the future!

And there was one in the challenge. Good idea. Love the old board. Been in the family long? Would have liked it a little lighter. Otherwise great photo. Great choice of letters.

high marks for the different use of squared

Composition: Maybe a little too centralised?
Technical: Excellent focus. Maybe slightly too dark?
Meets challenge: Yes
Overall impression: Nearly great, but let down a bit by the above. 6

Neat Idea but I find the lighting is a little flat.

I think a little more light would have helped this shot not appear quite so "flat." Also, maybe if the tile wasn't centered quite so much. In the middle like that, it makes the picture very static, though stable.

I think if you picked a better part of the board (not the fold) it would help. Lighting is a bit low - color is not great.

Different lighting may have helped. (I personally would have chosen a corner triple letter, and then placed the tile in the corner of the photo, but to each his own I suppose.) The fold line is distracting.

The lighting of this picture is poor. A "cast shadow" from the tile is nice but the light source is too diffuse in this case. And why did you crop the picture the way you did?

Good idea not so sure about the presentation

Picture is underexposed.

Nice clear photo but it's a little too dark. Maybe you could have used a few lamps (but not pointing directly onto the board as you don't want glare).
