| Oh YAY! I liked this shot a lot. I gave it a 7. I think it's just one of the most attractive tech shots I've seen. The folded cloth creates such nice lines and shadows. I love the color tone you added. Biggest complaing - I'd like to see more focus on the front of the chip. It isn't bad having the focus in the middle but I'd prefer having the front half in focus. I like the perspective a lot. I just don't have any more suggestions b/c I think this is a really good shot. A new take on an overdone and boring subject. Very clear and crisp (where is is in focus). Nice lighting. Might be nice to be a little brighter, but that would give a different mood. It's square and it's a good shot. What else do they want?? I just don't get these voters sometimes. |

| Your background is in better focus than your subject... I like shallow DOF but you have missed here slightly. You need to get all of your subject including the prongs in focus while creating a shallow DOF behind and in front of the cpu... 5 ... Bob |

| Wow. Finally a computer chip shot that is beautifull to the eye ... too many bad pictures of mother boards out there. Love the composotioin (placement and use of negative space) and the shallow depth of field (in back). Would really liike to see more DOF in front though. Nonetheless, the best computer chip picture yet on DPC. Good luck. 9 |

| This subject is too long for this type of macro. A better angle and I think you might've been able to capture it properly. The background is good, but it looks like the part of the pic in the best focus is the bottom right corner of the background above the blurry stuff of course - Inspzil |

| I don't know what this is. I gather it's electronic in nature. But I do feel all of it should have been in focus with only the background out of focus. I do like the tone of the photo. Not a bad photo, just need better execution. |

| I think would be excellent if the foreground pins were in focus. I'm thinking perhaps you made it that way so we don't look at the sheet, but consequently the focus on the cpu is diminshed. |

| What is this a picture of ?? It is very nice. The representation of the square really stands out. The blanket behind it also adds a very nice touch that lets it stand out. Good job. |

| I think by having this picture done without real color made this image much more creative. Try to move in just a little closer to the picture to make a little more intrest. Nice Work |

| A lot of beautiful submissions this challenge. This is one of them. The large image is even nicer than the already beautiful thumbnail. I would have guessed it to be a piece of fine jewelry or something due to the lovely tones. Great work. (9) |

| To me the focus on this just seems odd, it doesn't really create a good dof, it just seems out of focus to me. Call me crazy if you want:) I do like the color in this. |

| DOF is too small - would like to see the entire square in focus. Like the background and the overall color scheme. |

Very nice background, I have tried this for the Macro challenge with a Cyrix PR200MX, but couldn't find a nice background. This is.
Cool use of dof in combination with focus. Also blurs the background away in such a way that the attention stays in the front.
Nice toning. Good angle. |

| The chip is boring (I have older/more interesing looking ones), but the layout of it and the background and color is very nice. 7.5 for this. |
