 Taken at a domestic animal zoo (no lions or such) on a cold but beautiful sunday. Shot through a fence, handheld.

Did levels, sharpening and cloned out some minor distractions in the upper right corner.

For this shot to work (to me) it needs to retain fur detail throughout the subject. It's lost on the head due to a highlight. It's a difficult shot though, as exposing for the head would let most of the rocks go to shadow. Might have been worth it though.

Is this a real animal? I don't know but it looks so unreal, a bit plastic look on his/her face...

Your composition is great, so is the contrast between the snow white of the fox and the green/grey of the rocks

Wish I could get my dogs to sit still long enough to take a 'look into the lens' shot with them. Great color balance and use of thirds.
