Honestly, I did this intentionally "dark" for 3 reasons: 1) it looked pretty bad in full color with the tone-shifted leaf against the green, 2) you could more easily see the stone under the leaves and it made the image feel more "cobbled together at 11:50pm", and finally 3) because not everything about Canada is bright and cheery, we do have some darkness, and I thought that showing that in this image might be interesting. we are a peace-keeping nation, but that doesn't mean we can't kick some ass on the battlefield - we took some critical objectives that others couldn't in Several wars, and we are the only country to successfully fend off a US invasion on more than 1 separate occasion. ;) (we actually pushed back and burned down the white house at one point!) |

Good thinking.. sorry neither of your commenters voted... I just think this might have benefitted from some brightening, overall. |

I really like the muted colors of this. However, I suspect a more vibrant red would have made voters happier. |

This red Maple leaf looks like it committed a crime and the cops have shown their spotlight on it. Hands up, Maple leaf! |
