I like the high-key effect you achieved with the lighting. However, I don't like that the whole image looks slightly out of focus. Also, you should use a model that knows (or is instructed properly) how to assemble and hold a clarinet.

returning for comments:
Now, this shot is nice. The angle adds interest, but the model does not hold the instrument properly with left hand. The little thing that is silhoutted by the base of her thumb is the thumb rest. Since the comp is strong, we will overlook this minor detail. lol Bumping up.

I usually don't like tipped pictures but in this case it works just great. It allows us to see most of the girl and the whole clarinet. The use of a wite high key background works well for this too. Gives the whole a graphic feel.

The skintones look a little too over-exposed, but it's a nice shot, nonetheless. The angle makes this photo interesting! Good job! 8

wow, good picture
However, I'm a clarinet player. ANd I can tell you that tghis person does not play clarinet. Her hands are in the wrong place ;)
But that wont bias my scoring, its a good picture.

Nice portrait. The blown highlights work well here.

thought it could have been a good picture...nice clarity and such...but so many things are wrong from how the mouthpiece is in her mouth, where the ligature is, and how shes holding it that it bothers me...a lot...

I like the angle, and the expression, the contrast looks a bit too much

I like this the best except for the leaning....fits the frame perfectly but makes me uncomfortable and off balance....great subject too 10

Good photo, but it would be better if she were holding the clarinet correctly.

Very nice composition. I think her posture is a bit staged, as if she's trying to say "get on with it - take the picture already". Some of the yellow tones, especially in the background could be desaturated I think. One of my top picks still - good effort!

Although this is a nice photo, the hand position is really off-putting. Those who know will be screaming 'get lessons'.

I usually like these high key portraits but this one, I don´t know. The instrument (don´t know the english word for it) is moving slightly and somewhere the backround is pure white, and somewhere it´s yellowish, it´s like you dodged the backround in photoshop but left out some areas, like over her left shoulder, under her left elbow and at her right thigh. Good effort though, I love the composition and her expression and this is still better than most shots in this challenge.
