Part of my series showing a side of Hawaii that the travel guides conveniently leave out.

When "Hawaii" comes to mind, people immediately think floral shirts, palm trees, clear blue skies, white sand beaches, and aquamarine oceans.

Hawaii as depicted on TV is a facade and I wish to photograph the other side less seen.

"I've given up trying to convince myself that I'm a bad photographer and should shoot images that please others. Instead, I find it easier to convince myself that my style has not yet caught on and when it finally becomes trendy, people will look back and say, "He was ahead of his time and brilliant in his day!" "

ummm.. don't think so...

love it. there is so much real life and culture to every 'tourist' island that is never seen--except by those who choose to forego the norm, and explore it. you should do more of these.

Hi brandon :)
Interesting shot... Altho, I do have a bit of a problem with it being a centered composition.

Cheery colors for such a desolate shot. Interesting framing. Not a bad picture at all. Sad to think that one of the most beautiful places in the world is treated with such disrespect by it's inhabitants.

Good shot but the sky ruins it, it´s noisy and overexposed in several places and just looks plain unnatural.

Ok, this is a wonderful shot! Especially if it really is Hawaii. My only concern is related to cropping. I would like to see a crop that begins at the left black tire and cuts right before the rocks on the right. This will push the image into portrait mode and really push the viewers eye into the center where focus should be. Right now, there's too many elements that are distracting me. Great pic though and aloha! 7.
