True alpenglow (from German: Alpenglühen)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alpenglow
True alpenglow. 09/21/15 7:06:04 PM MDT. That is 5 minutes after the sun set at 7:01. The sun (below the western horizon) lit up the sky and clouds with color and light. That light bounced down to the mountains, forest and lake. It was magical. The other benefit of darkness is the paucity of people in the area. They went home. I was the last to leave the parking lot at 7:30pm. Our cameras can "see" (via long exposures) long after our eyes can no longer detect the colors and light. Canon 5Dmk3, Canon EF24-105mm f/4L IS USM, f/16, ISO 400, lens focal length 28mm, [1.3s, 2.0s, 3.2s]. |
